Humans have always built for themselves and around themselves the most suitable environment for their life and activity, modifying it according to their needs, historical eras, and circumstances. For example, animals that once helped in subsistence and coexisted with humans are now replaced by many household appliances and equipment they use, living in stable and functional dwellings and buildings constructed with new styles and remarkable techniques. In architecture, they have shown all their creative ability to design and shape spaces and places according to their way of living life and building their home and city. Human architectural choices reveal their relationship with the environment; they are like “snapshots” reflecting their way of being, thinking, and sharing, thus imprinting, in turn, an important turning point in their life and way of being: enriching or impoverishing it. Indeed, what would certain architectural achievements become if the greatness produced externally in houses and their habitat did not correspond to the recognition in humans of the greatness of their spirit, their spiritual soul, in which resides the miracle of the image of God? Every human construction would also become their prison: every greatness and comfort would cease to be the serene and pleasant place to find oneself.
